Re: wifi detectie
@JerryF: I am not interested in windows 10; I only want to know the wireless device in my notebook.
So I want to know a name or model number for the wifi?
The only solution I see is to temporarily install windows 10. But I have no idea how to install it on my notebook which does not have a disc drive. (And I don't have windows 10).

Re: wifi detectie
Okay, what you would do then is this:
right-click in Mint on the network-icon in your status bar (bottom-right of your screen probably)
A pop-up will appear with text something like this: Configure network connection
Click on that
A Window opens and in the right half of it you see a line saying: Restrict to device
Behind it (in the small box) is the name of your device and its MAC address.
Why do you need it, what are you trying to do?
