two finger scrolling doesn't work

Post by bhola_singh » Thu Oct 18, 2018 2:35 pm

NewB moron here, thanks for your patience.

I have a Synaptics touchpad on a hp laptop, I enabled two finger scrolling from system settings. However, i still can't scroll neither vertical or horizontal.

Do I need to so something else?

Not exactly what you asked, but I have an Acer with Synaptics touchpad. Edge scrolling worked out of the box, no need to change settings... maybe try edge scrolling? There are many smarter people than me on this forum so I expect you will get a lot of help.

Suggest install of:

Code: Select all

xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
from the repository.
That may take care of the issue in itself.
It will also allow very enhanced and extended touchpad tweaks over and above
the adjustments addressed with the default drivers.
You can use Synaptics Package Manager to find this or in a terminal:

Code: Select all

apt install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
