Change Launcher Icon

Post by Sabo »

Hi this is my first post here, cause i couldnt find a suitable, existing thread. I use the latest Linux Mint 19.

My problem is this:
I installed the application "Eclipse". Cause I couldnt get it to work with the application manager i installed the version of their website (https://www.eclipse.org/).
The only Problem it didnt created a launcher in my start menu. So i created my own Launcher. But there was no option to add an Icon to it. If i add Eclipse to my Desktop i can change it no Problem. Just rightlick, properties and click on the icon. But this wont change it in the Main Menu.

Eclipse works fine, just that there is no Icon. How can i add it?

Here's a picture of how I added the launcher. My system language is German so it may look awkward to you. Thanks in advance!

Left click on the "red rocket" icon and specify the path to the Eclipse icon which according to the image you posted is java-2018-09/eclipse/icon.xpm
Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon
