Hello, dawitam.

Which phase of the system startup are you talking about?
After powering on, when the core system gets loaded, you should see the Linux Mint logo (boot splash screen). - Is this when you see the Ubuntu splash screen instead?
Later on when the graphical login screen gets displayed, do you see any Ubuntu logo here?
Could you perhaps post a photgraph, illustrating what you try to tell us?

Best regards,
Karl

Now that you mention it, I do remember that for some inexplicable reasons, some users have the weird idea replacing lightdm by xdm might be a good idea. Which of course it is not. - This will be the reason why they do not mention having committed such a deed.

Because people think that XDM is Xtreme download manager, not display manager. :?

Then the solution of getting back lightdm in place should be found in this post by phd21.
Main steps:
  • Command sudo dpkg-reconfigure lightdm
  • Rebooting to see if lightdm is back to normal operation.
  • Personally I would uninstall xdm again.
