Click the hamburger menu -> help -> activate troubleshoot mode. This will restart FF. How does it display now?

Open Users & Groups and create a new account for testing. Reboot and log into the new account. How does it appear there?

how do I proceed
Shutdown Firefox. Rename ~/.mozilla/firefox to ~/.mozilla/firefox-old.
Restart Firefox.
Then maybe shutdown Firefox again and copy over profiles.ini to the new ~/.mozilla/firefox.

Open the hamburger icon -> help -> information for troubleshooting -> click the command at the top right to clean up FF (wording can be slightly different). This preserves your bookmarks.
Gotcha!
