Solved *** Folder create link on desktop

Post by nekrub2 »

Dear all
Having used Windows for many years I still get confused when trying to create a link (Windows term shortcut) to the desktop. In Windows you have it in the right click context menu. Here I need CTRL+Shift (if I miss CTRL I move the whole folder).
Is there a chance that in the near future we get a safer way?

Not, if you do not tell us the version of Mint and your desktop.
Gotcha!

Press Ctrl+Shift, hold them pressed, drag n drop onto desktop. Release.
Or right click on the file/folder and choose create link. Drag n drop the created link on desktop instead.

In Nemo is the command for creating a link in the edit-menu. You can set it into the context menu. Instead of the menus you can also use the shortcut ctrl-m.
Gotcha!

Read my post again. I told you already, that the command can / must be added to the context menu. It exists by default in the edit menu.
Gotcha!
