hallo,

i have linux mint Lisa 12 64-bit version.

i installed gnucash 2.4.10 exactly like it is tutored here:
http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=1283

i got this message when installation was finished:
Done. The new package has been installed and saved to

/home/mypath/to/gnucash

You can remove it from your system anytime using:

dpkg -r gnucash
my problem is that gnucash is not starting up when i click on the icon in the menu.
i can not find the logfiles of gnucash. can anybody tell me where they are located ?
has anybody a tip what i can do. i am very new to linux and gnucash.

thank you for any help. i hope this is not the wrong place for my post.

greets
fred.

First check if u can find in the repositories (software manager)
if you do ( i do believe its in there) find it, I know for a fact its there in the repo's for lmde

then run
sudo apt-get autoremove --purge gnucash
then
sudo apt-get autoclean
sudo apt-get update

then to install from the repos
sudo apt-get install gnucash

tip for the future, install from the repositories whenever possible. It will make your life make easier
