Differences from Ubuntu

I am thinking of changing from ubuntu to Linux Mint, is there any differences that I should be aware of?

I see that there are several editions of Linux Mint, whats the difference between the "normal" ones and the light/mini ones?

Does Linux Mint update as often? and at the same time as Ubuntu?

Does the Eee-script for Ubuntu work on Linux Mint?

Is it possible, and easy, to make an LiveUSB that I can use for installing Linux Mint without CD?
I do not need the LiveUSB to remember changes that I make when using the LiveUSB.

They're extremely similar, yet with certain differences. I was using Ubuntu since 7.04 and have switched to Mint and prefer Mint.
