I'm running Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon on my HP DV6 6121tx. I'm running it on integrated intel graphics at the moment. The problem is, I can't increase or decrease brightness. Not just by the keyboard FN key shortcut, even from the built in Brightness and Lock application in Windows.
Moving the slider seems to have no effect at all.

Re: Controlling Screen brightness
If Windows doesn't work either, you maybe need to update the BIOS (from Windows).
