Linux 13 Maya [Cinnamon] Install Hangs

Post by sosilent » Tue Jun 26, 2012 4:07 am

Hello, I'm new to Linux, and I have a problem installing Maya Cinnamon 32bit.
Installation exits after Linux copies files from Live CD and starts installing [when "slideshow" dialog is displayed].
It just exits without any warnings. After reboot I'm left with no boot record.
Anybody knows how to fix this, or what may be causing this problem?

Hi, Welcome to the Linux Mint forums :)

Could you try reinstalling?
Boot from your live cd.
Before you click the icon "Install Linux Mint", open a terminal (Menu > Accessories > Terminal), and type in

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get remove ubiquity-slideshow-mint
press enter.
When it's finished, close the terminal.
Then click the install icon.

See if it makes any difference.
