How is the /home/user/Network folder implemented?

How is the /home/user/Network folder implemented such that I can browse the samba network? I would like to do the same on Ubuntu . . .

The application that makes it possible to browse a network in Mint out of the box is fusesmb. You can turn it on/off in mintDesktop
It's an Ubuntu package found in Mint's synaptic
