Hi I just installed the latest Linux Mint Cinnamon. I am happy that there is a panel at the bottom of the screen.
However there is only limited space for window icons on the panels and the window icons don't seem to group or shrink (as they did in Gnome 2). As a result the panel overflows and among other things the menu icon becomes hidden.
QUESTION: Is there a way to make the panel group window icons (or perhaps shrink them to fit the available space)?
I could not find an option that has that effect.

Re: Panel overflows
Perhaps start using the workspaces if you need to have that many applications open? I opened 50 windows, and still it didn't overflow.
I'm using Cinnamon 1.6 BTW, so it might be that it would be worthwhile to upgrade to that.

Re: Panel overflows
The overflowing happens after only a few windows.
But something strange is going on since for my son who uses exactly the same version of Mint it does work.
There is probably something about the panel configuration I do not understand (I also cannot get the dual panel mode to work).
For now I switched to XFCE...
