Live CD Install...Wifi? & Langauge Packs?

Postby Orbmiser » Tue Nov 13, 2012 7:16 pm

Just did a clean install of latest 14 Nadia and had a couple of questions I wasn't clear on.

May save others wondering also.

1) IS Wifi needed for installation?
2) Why wasted time downloading all those language packs? I only need one and added 20-30mins to install time.
And couldn't required upgrades be done after the basic installation?

Just curious as didn't remember to not enable wifi and give a twirl and see what happens on my second time installing from CD.

1. Nope, But If you use wifi on the live cd the settings are transferred to the install

2. PIA, I dont see the need for this either, never used to do it; its just a "feature"

Answer 2 is not complete... Can it be disabled and if so how?

Unplug the internet cable from your computer during installation, and it won't download language packs :D

Thanks for the info. I thought as much just didn't remember to do it when I did a re-clean install of 14 cinnamon.
