Os not booting

The brightness control wasn't working so I added a line to the grub menu.
Now the BIOS loads but I cannot see the GUI but the is loading cuz I can still toggle Bluetooth and all.
Only if I could enter into the terminal then maybe I could fix it .
Please guide me over this

Can you get to the desktop? I see in one of your other posts you can't mount Windows 7 partition. So, I am assuming you can get to desktop. Is that correct?

What version of LInux Mint are you using?
