system freezes everytime i try to mount ntfs partition

Post by ankityadav4u » Wed Jan 02, 2013 1:01 pm

I am dual booting mint-14 with windows7. I am using mint since few days, it was working fine till now, except freezing once or twice. But as today i am trying to omunt ntfs partition (around 450gb) its freezing everytime not even able to launch terminal (except for alt+ctrl+f1 but m not a linux expert anyway to recover all through command line).
If it will continue to do so i may not be using mint anymore, as all my data is on that partition only. can somebody please help. :(

Have you tried to use Mountmanager?, witch can be installed via package management.
