Thunderbird Spamassasin ClamAV (and Exim?) solved

Postby rhvkl » Tue May 06, 2008 7:15 pm

hello.

history: used thunderbird & spampal & kaspersky in my old windows
now: thunderbird & spambayes 1.0.1 plugin [not powerful enough, no virus scan]
future / planned: Spamassassin (doesn't work), ClamAV (doesn't scan my incomin mails) ... i think i need a step by step howto  ... read in apt-get something about sendmail and exim --> is this needed, too?

sendmail is a common but not very good application to send mail (thus the name) so it has nothing to do with receiving mail. Of course it may be possible to have the same antivirus in "both directions"

Part. Solved:

Usin Thunderbird and Bayesian Plugin
Perhaps Spamassassin would have been overkill for my needs... but the virus scan would be great (not needed right?).
