I have kept the 120gr hard drive disk from my old computer and its now a portable hard drive. Great. This was working well with no problems until I decided to connect it to my new smart TV LG and its reformatted to record from the TV. I now can't use it on my computer. Are the 2 not comptable then? I wont be able to record to USB and then expect to be able to read it on my computer. Can I reformat my portable hard drive to reuse it with my computer?
Thanks in advance.

Re: OLD HARD DRIVE NOW PORTABLE HARD DRIVE
Open Gparted/disk utility to see if there is a filesystem on the drive. Could be that it died since you plugged it in. Or your TV is using some weird proprietary filesystem.
If you want to use it on your computer, you can reformat it, but then don't plug it back into your TV and reformat it. Another option would be to resize the current partition and create a new one to use with your computer. Again, no guarantee that it's possible.
