Newbie Problems with Login screen

I am new to Linux Mint 14 only having installed this weekend and must admit i am amazed by the spped and stability. However i have come across a couple of issues surrounding the login screen.

the setup is as follows:
user a is administrator with a password on the account
user b (the wife) is a standard user with no password required at login.

On initial boot or if a user has logged out all works as expected a click thier name in the list and enters password and can login, user b just clicks thier name and logs in.

The problems/questions however are:
1. Is there a way to create a launcher on the cinamon desktop to switch user while preserving the current session?(to try and stop the wife posting on my facebook).
2.if user a locks the screen, user b selects switch user and the login screen appears however when user b clicks their name nothing happens. Even if user b enters thier password as requested it fails to authenticate or login. the only way round this is user a logs in and then logs out properly thus losing open windows etc.
3. Despite changing the user icons in the user management menu the icons on the login screen are not updating.

Im sure you guys will have the answer however i am unable to find in the forums. Thanks in advance.

Try to set your wife with password required at login (not automatically session)

I don't know if this problem is a cinnamon bug.

I tried to do what you intend using LM13 MATE and works well.

Thanks i will try to see if it solves although may well lead to endless ear bashing form wife about not needing one on Windows. Any one got any ideas on the other issues.
