Mapping Select Folder to ~/Pictures

Postby morbid_bean » Mon Feb 18, 2013 12:11 am

Basicly, what I do on my Windows 7 Install is pretty much map my Dropbox/Pictures folder to my User/Pictures folder... So what ever I put into the Pictures folder automatically gets uploaded to the cloud.

I am trying to accomplish this on MINT:

My Dropbox Pictures folder is: ~/Dropbox/Pictures

and I want to map that to: ~/Pictures

Is there a way to add a shortcut to Dropbox folder on the side Pane in Thunar?

Wouldn't linking both separate folders to same dropbox then sync do the same thing?

If 'Pictures' exists in ~/Dropbox, copy out the files and delete the directory. Next, do this in a terminal:

Code: Select all

ln -s ~/Pictures ~/Dropbox/Pictures

Now, if you put a file in ~/Dropbox/Pictures, it will be stored in ~/Pictures.
There is no spoon.
