How to Stream Media to (wireless enabled) Panasonic TV?

Hi - Newbie Question

New to Linux, running a Dual Boot with Windows 7. When I'm running Linux is running my wife is unable to stream video from the hard drive to the TV. When in Windows we use Windows Media Centre as Server to stream to TV. No worries there, but have to be running Windows which I dont want to do.

Have tried this so far:

(1) Installed Serviio. The TV could see it but could not find any media to play.
(2) Installed Wine, tried to run the Windows Media Player executeable file. Nothing happened.
(3) Searched Google, You Tube, this forum - no luck.

Any ideas? Apologies if the answer is right in front of me.

Thank you

I'm not sure if you are trying to stream to the tv via wireless or thru a cable connection?

Hi - Streaming via Wireless connection. From PC through to the TV (also have a WD TV Live which could be used).

Thank you.

*** Anyone have any ideas? Surely media can be streamed wirelessly to a TV in Linux Mint??? **

Me too would like to stream DLNA and I have WDTV Live media center as well.

Is Serviio a regular DLNA server ?

Thanks, ciao
