WiFi 802.11 Auth

Post by EmpireITtech »

Man, ever since Ubuntu 13.04 can out (and now LM 15) I have not been able to get my WiFi card to authorize when I try to connect to an access point. When I disable the driver for the card, I'm able to connect just fine but the signal strength is terrible. Once I enable it, the strength is great but it won't connect. It's really frustrating..

The driver info is attached in a png file. Thanks for any help, I know others have voiced this as well. :(

Looks like a nasty bug for that card. See the very end of the page for workaround (newer driver) at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1110139

Cheers, I'll try that out!

It's just weird bc since LM 13 I've used this laptop and it's been fine. Now with all the 13.04 editions I've tried, the exact same driver fails to authenticate...

I think the problem is on the Broadcom end, not Ubuntu, but since that's the driver in the repos it fails in all of them. I've seen this happen with the b43 driver in the past as well where just one version is flawed for many users.
