Mint Menu Button Missing LM13 Mate 64bit

Post by velky_pivo » Tue Sep 24, 2013 3:43 pm

LM13 Maya 64 bit MATE
I had to reinstall MATE desktop because my desktop had gone black after attempting to remove Samba.
Mate desktop came back OK but I am missing the original Mate menu cogged wheel button.
I am not sure if it is due to a update bug (shown here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cnKs1cWMbw )
or if something changed in my Mate settings due to desktop reinstall.
Not even sure if it could be out of panel view to the left.
I am using the Main menu replacement (from "Add to panel") for now but dislike it.

How can I get the original menu and menu button back ?

I welcome any suggestions.

Update.
I did some poking around, and noticed that my mintMenu folder was missing under /usr/lib/linuxmint/.
I have 2HD system with same LM13 on both, so I just copied the folder over.
It did nothing.
