Dragging Icons Onto Desktop Fails

Dragging application icons from the Mint Menu to the desktop fails. This is the exact error:

I can't replicate that error. Icons are copying to desktop with no problem here.

It seems your system is trying to move the icon rather than copy it. Curious :?

What happens if you drag that firefox icon on the panel to the desktop (assuming it's firefox you want there).
That is peculiar.

Menu -> Panel works
Panel -> Desktop works

So: Menu -> Panel -> Desktop works

but Menu -> Desktop FAILS.
