How do I edit the hosts file?

Post by vortechs » Sat Nov 16, 2013 6:23 pm

In Windows I used a program called HostsXpert to manage the hosts file, with it you could download updated hosts files with all the ad servers and doggy sites blocked and add any you wish to block, is there something similar for Linux or if not how do I manually edit the Hosts file?
Thanks.
