Open a terminal and run

Code: Select all

sudo displayconfig-gtk
This will let you set the gfx driver(nvidia) and the desired screen res. You will have to reboot to take effect.

Is there a similar command for an ATI card or is it one in the same?

It is the same. It will let you choose the driver/res for any supported card/monitor.
