Mint 16 Mate 64-bit won't print on HP Desktop 2510?

Hi, I just installed Linux Mint 16 Petra Mate 64-bit.

My HP Desktop 2510 printer is found on Linux Mint and is set as default.
I print a test page and the print shows as processing and that's it?

Any suggestions to getting a printer working on Linux Mint 16?

I had a tough time getting my printer to work on Mint, too. How (if you did) did you set it up on CUPS?

Browser > localhost:631 > Enter > Administration > Add Printer > User Name: <your computer's username> > Password: <your computer's password> > Log In > Discovered Network Printers (or Local Printers if USB connected printer) > Continue > Location: Home Office > Continue > Model: <select your model> > Add Printer > Set Default Options > Open text document and print test page.

Even CUPS won't make the HP Deskjet 2510 print.
The USB was connected to an extension USB cable, however I tried the printer's USB directly into computer and still not working.

Honestly, I've never had a printer work on Linux Mint. My Canon LBP 7200Cdn still doesn't work on Mint.

Take a look at these

Basically the second link will lead to the first.

This one is in between them. Linux Mint is mentioned here.

You may just need an updated version of hplip.

Good luck

I'm using 64 bit Maya and when first installed my Canon IP7250 didn't work either, can't remember how or why but discovered that CUPS had installed the 32 bit driver, changed to 64 bit driver and success. :)
