Problem at login

Postby buddhalan » Mon Sep 01, 2008 2:47 pm

Hi guys.

My first question, so please be gentle.

My elyssa version was running okay, but I am suddenly getting the following message after entering my user name and password:

User's $HOME/.dmrs file is being ignored. This prevents the default session and language from being saved. File should be owned by user and have 644 permissions. User's $HOME directory must be owned by user and not writable by other users.

Once I okay this, everything seems to work fine, but it's beginning to be irritating. How do I get rid of it, please?

Try (all of them):

(You become the owner of your home)

Code: Select all

sudo chown -R yourusername /home/yourusername

(Get read+write permissions)

Code: Select all

sudo chmod -R u+rw /home/yourusername

(Remove other's read+write permissions from your home)

Code: Select all

sudo chmod -R o-rw /home/yourusername
