See this post for a suggested firewall and a graphical setup possibility
http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=165510
But only the single command is enough to have a good firewall.
Add (Solved) to the topic-title of the first post when appropriate so others know they might find a solution here.

Hi Crackington

I am using the preinstalled ''ufw'' firewall with the ''gufw'' interface. I find it quite easy to configure and reliable (so far). For more details, follow the link http://community.linuxmint.com/software/view/gufw.

Good luck!
