Hi,
I have just installed Xfce -version of Mint and I am quite surpriced how well and fast it works. Now I am really considering to give up Vista totally. I questions still: Is this version of Mint so called long term support version ie. can I expect that security updates will be made three years? Main edition is so I assume that it goes also for this.

Re: Mint 5 Xfce with LTS ?
This depends on Ubuntu - they maintain most of the packages we use and if they don't maintain XFCE packages for a LTS period this will not be a LTS release (This is always (?) the case for Kubuntu)
But we will make our best to provide support and our packages will be maintained for the period

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
