You have a 64 bit computer, so there is no reason to install the 32 bit Mint that you downloaded.
Mint 18.2 Cinnamon, Quad core AMD A8-3870 with Radeon HD Graphics 6550D, 8GB DDR3, Ralink RT2561/RT61 802.11g PCI
Linux Linx 2018

I guess I just went off of what windows vista that was installed, What kind of difference will I notice. To change it I take it I will have to download the 64 bit and start over.

There is no advantage to having 32 bit.
The advantages to having 64 bit are not very significant for you, since you only have 3GB of ram.
If you were planning to install more ram, it would make a difference..

Just wanted to take the time to say thanks, I am able to do everything I was wanting to do. I have a couple kinks to work out. But I have downloaded Linux mate, vlc and am now playing music while controlling with my phone. There where some things to work around such the firewall, and setting it up but this forum helped me do that. I will say more thanks when I have some extra funds to donate. Thank you Linux team and all.
