udev is the system daemon responsible for automatically setting up devices and connected peripherals. From a Google on your error "Error calling EVIOCSKEYCODE: Invalid argument" multiple other users with that error report it as an issue with their keyboard. Is this on a laptop? If not, try connecting a different keyboard to your computer. If it is a laptop, perhaps try something as user reported here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2250210

Hi, folks.

I can confirm that I started reading this error message during each reboot on my Dell Latitude E6330, which runs Ubuntu 14.04.1 64-bit Unity desktop, as well. Cannot tell when exactly this started.
Have not experienced any trouble with my keyboard in spite of the error message: integrated keyboard / keyboard attached to the docking station.
I will check the file mentionend in the Ubuntu forum thread: Error calling EVIOCSKEYCODE: Invalid argument.
So far I have not seen this error message on any other machine.

Cheers,
Karl

Hello Xenopeek & Karlchen,

Thx. for fast replying.
I have a Dell Latitude e6500 Laptop.

I believe it started when updating udev & libudev1 in Synaptic recently from 204-5ubuntu 20 to 204-5ubuntu 20.9.
And I can't downgrade this by Force...in Synaptic
Could this be?

Regards

Hello,

I still got this notification.
What should I edit in System Udev Rules about the Keyboard?
