Hide boot up text

hi, just a quick question, for some reason the usplash screen doesn't show for the whole boot. How can I hide all the text?thanks

Open a terminal and enter:

Code: Select all

gksu gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst

This will open menu.lst in a text editor.

Look for the line starting with "kernel" Like this:
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.24-16-generic root=/dev/sda1 ro

Change that line to this (add quiet splash):
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.24-16-generic root=/dev/sda1 ro quiet splash
