how to set bright on desktop start...

how to set bright on desktop start...

howdy folks...

each time I start the lappy, I have to down the brightness manually, how to keep it on some value predetermined?

I use a startup script that's simply

echo "5" > /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness
exit 0

I do not have acpi_video0 but INTEL ...

The settings in that file are a little different than acpi's. Check the max brightness with

Code: Select all

cat /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/max_brightness
and half the number returned to echo to /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness
