Hi!
I find the Application volume fader very useful.
Is there a manner to access/modify this value on the command line?

Looks like pacmd should be able to if your using pulse audio. Not something I have done, but I have used it control overall volume... It has a ton more then I have used though and if you read through their help and man page you may be able to figure it out?
