I have a HP Photosmart 3200xi printer connected to my router. I just installed hplip-2.8.12. I can't get Mint to see the printer. I tried setting the ip address and everything. I have gotten this to work in Kubuntu before but never tried it with a gnome desktop.
Has anyone gotten it to work

Re: Installing a shared printer
I got it to work. Here is what you do.
First download HPLip drivers on to your home directory
Applications: Adminstration: Printing, then you click on the server pulldown and select new printer
Now to click on appsocket/HP Directjet, then type in the IP address
At this step you select the correct drivers from the HPLip directory on your home driver.
and it should work after that.
