updating kernel to the latest version

Post by hunkyjoe »

In snaptic the linux-image-generic 2.6.27-7.11 is installed then it states the latest version is
2.6.27.9.13. Why isn't the latest version installed? I ran a update on 01/21/09 and update tells me everything is updated.
Also it's no big deal to me but I have Felica installed and the gnome panel reads Elyssa.

We don't encourage kernel updates as they might break things. They are in level 4 or 5 in Mint update which are not visible by default
Did you upgrade from Elyssa? If so the menu button still reads Elyssa - right click it > Preferences

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
