Software Sources not starting, can't get to Repositories

if you uninstall software-properties-gtk using synaptic-you should be able to solve the problem.

This seems like a good solution, but why does my computer want to install so many other packages when I remove this one:

no it doesn't :!: the last post here is almost 3 years old:
you have no idea how that "fix" is going to affect your system (but i can see from your output that not in a good way)
please start a new topic saying what is the problem you are facing and what v. of Mint you are using.
