Backup

Post by dalexunil »

For the life of me, I cannot figure out HOW to get the deja-dup gui on my desktop. Going a step farther - I actually can't find it in my menu after loading it from my Software Manager (even though it is "Installed")! Please help me before I go bonkers :cry: !

EDIT: Linux Mint 17.3

Sorry but I have no experience with DejaDupe. I use BackInTime and it works quite nicely. The menu items will ne in the System menu area.
The instructions suggested Windows XP or better, so I installed Linux :)

Try Accessories : Backups
#!@!*$ generic application names :(
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named "manual".

In general: If the name in the menu is different to the one that you expect you can find the menu entry, if you enter the known name into the search bar of the menu. This problem does especially appear, if the menu entry is language specific.

Thanks, I think I've got it sorted. I removed the backup apps I had and installed BackInTime and will give it a try. Still learning :roll:
