The add/remove programs works fine except it fails to put up a link to the app or tell you how to get an icon or link to the app. I just installed OpenOffice suite and everything worked just great except I can't find it.

I know I'm new to this but am I missing something obvious ????

For me, newly installed software often appears in a menu only after I log out and back in. Then I go looking for where it was placed in the menus.

Install them the same way as open office.

sudo adept install

Now where was i going? Oh yes, crazy!
