(Solved)Mint or Ubuntu?

Hello,

I down loaded the user manual for Linux Mint and the Pocket Guide to Ubuntu and read both at pleasure novel speed.

The Ubuntu guide tells me the install process will recognize and set up most connections to printers, sound cards and such,most anything that would require drivers in Windows.

Since Mint is derived from (or is in addition to?) Ubuntu,will a Mint install also sense and connect printers and sound cards and such?

In another section of this forum, there are instructions about how to make a TV tuner card work and mine is in the list. If I install Mint and follow those directions,will the card simply show up,having been "read" from the pci slot where it's installed?

Mint is essentially a repackaged Ubuntu with different looks and features, so in most cases, Ubuntu commands will work

You can do a pretty good job of checking out the compatibility of your hardware beforehand by running either Mint or Ubuntu from a LiveCd.
