Mint 18 PDF viewer doesn't save settings (e.g. Inverted colors)

Post by pepperminty »

I have MATE Mint 18 on a laptop and Cinnamon Mint 18 on a desktop. The PDF viewer (xreader) should be able to save the current settings as the default settings, but it doesn't. For instance. I want Inverted Colors to be the default presentation (Ctrl-I). So I first switch on inverted colors (in the View submenu). I then click Edit (submenu) and then click "Save Current settings as default" (Ctrl-T). But it doesn't work. I exit out of the PDF and open the same or some other pdf. But I don't get inverted colors by default.

What's wrong?

Not saving inverted colors is a known bug in xreader.
Which other settings fail to save as default?

Inverted colors is probably the only one (that I can remember or value).
Does this bug have a tracking/milestones page?

There's something else strange in xviewer. I cannot select any text in a document by dragging over the text. It is as if it's a picture instead of a PDF-text document. I reinstalled atril for a test. Atril does not show this behavior. Am I missing something that changed the way of doing this? If I double click a word it IS selected. If I triple-click a whole line is selected, just dragging doesn't work.
Anyone else who noticed that?
