Mint 18

Post by Briand18 »

I've just installed 18 and am currently running two laptops, one with Mint 17, and this one with 18. A couple of irritants:

(1) The keyboard layout says it's UK, but it isn't. I can't get the @ symbol to be where it should be ie the shifted 2. I have to use the shifted ' (which means to get " I have to use the shifted 2).

(2) Three hours after the install, when I was congratulating myself, I lost wireless internet connection on the Mint 18 laptop, although the mint 17 and Windows laptop were both going fine in wireless. The Mint 18 would only connect on wired until I rebooted, but for the last hour or so it is connecting okay using wireless . I am hoping this won't turn into a persistent problem.

Shift-2 is " on a GB keyboard, @ on a US keyboard.

Oops - my bad. I didn't suspect my secondhand laptop would actually have a US keyboard!
