[FIXED]Unmounting an Image

Postby Xaeon88 » Sat Mar 14, 2009 11:07 pm

So I mounted one of my images using

Code: Select all

mount -t iso9660 -o loop <Image_File> <Mount_Point>
and now I cant "unmount" the image file. What I am trying to do is delete this folder that I made but I can't because the image that I mounted is in the folder. Here is the error code I get when I try to change permissions on the file. Any help is appreciated a lot!

Code: Select all

xaeon@xaeon ~/Desktop/mnt $ sudo chmod a+w disk
chmod: changing permissions of `disk': Read-only file system

Thanks in advance! :)

You cannot change permissions of read-only medias -- CD/DVD images are treated as read-only. In order to delete the mount directory, you must first unmount the image using this command:

Code: Select all

sudo umount /path/to/mountpoint
