Install mint without cd/floppy reader.

Postby LolO » Sun Mar 15, 2009 4:50 pm

Hello.

I think this is where i'm meant to post since i now feel like a hen that found a chewing gum.

I've had a lot of connexion trouble with windows on my hp tc4200, so i decided to install linux mint on it, as i had done previously with my other PC, without any trouble.

The matter is that this laptop hasn't any cd or floppy reader. I've tried to put the iso on a USB key and boot on it, but as i had guessed, it didn't work.

What should i do ?

thanks a lot and sorry for the English

This one is more up-to-date and much simpler:
Create Mint LiveUSB from Windows using a GUI (UNetbootin)

You can also do the entire operation in Linux Mint on the other computer. You would simply have to Google for a Linux version of UNetbootin.
