Sound Device keeps disappearing

Post by Weeping Cookie »

When restarting the computer my sound device is showing properly and everything works how its suppose to, but randomly after sometime of having my computer on it will disappear and will have to restart my computer again to get it back. How do I prevent this from happening?

Does this happen after the computer is hybernated or goes to sleep mode?

Are you running 'firejail'?

If so, see #4 in Pjotr's great 'Easy Linux Tips Project' here.

Yes I use firejail for firefox currently. However, I uninstalled PulseAudio Volume Control because I read it didn't work that well with mint, and I wasn't able to play any of my blu ray rips when I had pulse audio. Should I install it again and do number 4 on that list?
