VB on separate partition? <SOLVED>

Post by myface64 »

I have empty 50G partition that I formated in ext4. Is there any way to install or clone the VB in another partition?. I am running low on space on installed partition.
In win7 I could just merge the partition to gain a space - is that possible in Mint?. Thanks

You can merge partitions, depending on your partition configuration.
The easiest plan would be to use the 50Gb partition as a data partition.
As an example, if your Music folder on the root partition is getting too big, you can move it to the data partition and create a symlink to it.

Thank. That was easy - I just merge the main and 50gig partition and now have 80G. I started with installation dvd. Unmonted the hd and delete the other partitions ( I had 3) and merge the main with empty. All works fine.

There would also be another method: You can define in VB for every new VM, where it gets stored; this must not necessarily be the default VM storage folder. You can also define the default storage folder in the general settings of VB new.
