Sound and settings went away, how can I remove it?

Postby Robstarsbg » Mon Jun 19, 2017 5:08 am

Hallo,

I accidentally deactivated the sound button in the down right corner, where the time and power symbol is and also deleted the symbol.
Now the speakers are not reacting at all and I can't find the settings to turn it on again...

Can someone help me please??

I already searched, "right klick, panel, add item and all other settings but really can't find anything"

Thank you

What version of Mint are you using, including the desktop environment? This kind of thing really differs from one version to another.

What is your version of Mint and what is the desktop environment? If you don't know open a terminal and enter:

Code: Select all

inxi -Sz

Paste the output here.

Wait for a Xfce user jumping in.

Since it's Xfce, I'd try just right clicking the area where the sound icon was ... I'm assuming the other icons are still there ... and right clicking it. You should get a pop up menu that says "Indicator Plugin" at the top. There should be an item in the menu saying 'Properties'. Go there.

right clk on panel, choose to "add to panel" and then add all those offered in it as "notification" and then remove the ones that aren't it from the panel later.
All things go better with Mint. Mint julep, mint jelly, mint gum, candy mints, pillow mints, peppermint, chocolate mints, spearmint,....
