Spell checker doesn't seem to work, do I need to add dictionaries, if so from where, software manager?, and how does that work.

Hi Michael, I too have been away for some time. I had installed myspell-en-gb via software manager beforhand, I then went ahead an installed myspell-en-gb via package manager, rebooted opened libreoffice writer typed miss spelled words, spell checker still didn’t work. What do you suggest I try next, do i need to install a dictionary, if so where do I obtain it from, software mamager?.

Just picked this up. Will try and reply before end of week as need to do a bit of research. Currently waiting on a heart op for hereditary heart disease so may be off forum for a period at short notice.

The plugin I linked to is just for a spell checker in FireFox. Is it working in FireFox?

For Libre Office I use this extension to be able to get a UK English spell checker https://justplainobvious.blogspot.co.uk ... ffice.html

Solved: I downloaded Firefox addon, installed it, it worked fine straight away.
I then downloaded Libre office spell checker extension installed it, opened the writer app, still didn't work, I then went to tools, language, selected for all text, tried again great result, brilliant.
Thank you very much Caz for your time and effort. Andow.

Glad to see its sorted. Fairly inactive at present as awaiting major surgery at Royal Brompton and feeling carp most of the time! :(
