This did not help, I have now noticed that there is very high CPU usage, with nothing running (as far as I can tell) other than the system monitor.
As I said previously page transitions and scrolling is very choppy.
All 4 cores are running between 50 and 70%.
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
