Remap mouse buttons

Postby FrostyRussian » Sun Sep 17, 2017 9:01 am

I have two side buttons on my mouse. They are basically used for forward/backward commands in browsers.
Now on windows i always used X-Mouse Button Controll and remapped them to scroll UP/DOWN. How can i do the same with linux?
I did try xinput but that only scrolls once, i need it to scroll down while i hold button.

Using xinput device id is 8 and forward/backward buttons are 8 and 9 (scroll up/down are 4 and 5)

Any suggestion (alternative software) is welcome.
